France ended its strict lockdown on 3 May. The government also presented a multi-stage plan for the progressive relaxation of restrictions until mid-June.
The relaxation steps are of course dependent on the further progress of the national vaccination strategy and the development of the incidences.

The following information on travel to France is taken from the website of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
If you are arriving from a country within the European space, you can enter France. You must comply with health regulations to enter France (PCR test and sworn declaration). You are not required to self-isolate.
If you are arriving from Australia, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore and South Korea, you can enter France. You must comply with health regulations to enter France (PCR test and sworn declaration). You must self-isolate for seven days after your arrival.
From Monday 31 May, travel to France from the UK is permitted only for EU nationals, French residents, or those travelling for one of the essential reasons set out by the French Government. This applies to all air, car, ferry and train passengers. Arrivals from the UK who are resident in France may need to show proof of residence. Those who are not French residents or EU nationals will need to complete an International Travel Certificate to confirm their essential reason for travel. Arrivals from the UK will need to complete a ‘sworn statement’ (déclaration sur l’honneur) form self-certifying they are not suffering from symptoms associated with coronavirus and have not been in contact with confirmed cases in the preceding fortnight. For all other countries, you can only enter France (including French overseas territories) if you have pressing grounds for travel. You must comply with health check measures to enter France (PCR test and sworn declaration). You will be subject to a compulsory 10-day quarantine.
Masks are compulsory throughout France in public spaces and transport, taxis and all other transport companies (from 11 years of age).
Please note and respect the barrier measures in force in France to contain Covid-19 (more information at this link): no shaking hands, keep a safe distance of 1 m from people, wash your hands regularly or use hand disinfectants, cough or sneeze in your elbows or in a disposable tissue, avoid touching your face.
